Abstract

Das Karussell ist eine Maschine, in der die Tauschparameter von Sinn und Sinnlichkeit im szenischen Arrangement erprobt werden. Ab dem 19. Jahrhundert wird der Auszug wissenschaftlich-medialer Schwindelmaschinen aus den Laboren der Psychophysik Teil einer psychischen Festkultur, die sich von der physisch orientierten Kirmeswelt absetzt. Ralf Bohn liest Medienszenen des Karussells in Literatur, Film, Architektur, Fotografie und Malerei als Illustrationen von physischem Schwindel, ökonomischem Tausch und medialer Täuschung. Damit zeigt er auf, wie durch Spielorte legitimierter Überschreitung die Tauschökonomie jenseits von Moral und diesseits pathologischer Abgründe ausgetestet wird.
